YOUTH AT CALVARY (YAC)

YAC (Youth at Calvary) is the youth ministry at South Hill Calvary Chapel. Our desire and passion is to see teenagers fall in love with Jesus Christ and grow in a deep and intimate relationship with Him. We believe the MOST EFFECTIVE way to see this accomplished is following the model set for us in Acts 2:42...the word, fellowship, food and prayer.
On Wednesday nights, both the Jr. High (Abide) and Sr. High (24/7) gather for worship, announcements and prayer. Of course we throw in some randomness such as philosophizing, finger rockets and strange games. The two groups then split up for a sweet time of studying God’s Word. Charles Gillaspie teaches the Abide students and Pastor Jason teaches 24/7!
On Sunday mornings, Abide meets 2nd service in the YAC room for worship and Bible study. We feel it is important for the 24/7 students to remain in the adult service, for further spiritual growth.
Throughout the year, we have retreats, camping trips, missions trips, monthly events, a purity conference, worship nights, lots of hang time, and more.
