Joshua 18:3
3Then Joshua said to the children of Israel: "How long will you neglect to go and possess the land which the LORD God of your fathers has given you?
As I read this verse, I can’t help but ask myself if I am neglecting those things that the Lord has promised to give me. Throughout the Scriptures we read of the victories that are won by the mighty hand of the Lord. Often times those victories were amidst what seemed to be insurmountable odds. The Bible tells us that there is nothing too hard for God (Jer 32:27) and yet how often do we doubt what He has already promised.
Oh that we would stop to reflect on those things that the Lord has spoken to us, that we might press on in the belief that ‘He who has begun a good work in you will complete it…’ Phil 1:6. God is so faithful. There is much territory available to possess. May we be found faithful in standing firm on the promises of God.
Father, forgive us for the times we doubt you, for those times when we walk in disbelief, times when we don’t trust what you have for us. Give us the confidence of Joshua who walked in your promises even when they didn't make sense. Thank you for your patience with us as we stumble along growing in our confidence that in Christ we have a hope that never disappoints us. Open our eyes to perceive the riches that lie ahead for those who put their complete trust in You. In Jesus name…Amen.
May the Lord daily reveal to you all of the territory that He has given to you to possess and may you be strengthened in your confidence to trust Him in all that is to come. What an exciting adventure our lives with Christ are.
