God Revealed in Creation

Psalm 14:1-2
The fool has said in his heart, "There is no God." They are corrupt, they have done abominable works, there is none who does good. The LORD looks down from heaven upon the children of men, to see if there are any who understand, who seek God.

It is hard to believe how quickly summer has passed and autumn is upon us. No longer are we having to mow the lawn as often, and we notice the changing leaves blowing off of the trees and the change in colors all around us. As I consider why it is that there are four seasons, it dawns on me that it is so the Lord can reveal his presence through his creation. It is for this very reason that man is without excuse. Romans 1:20 tells us… For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even His eternal power and Godhead, so that they are without excuse. It is true that there are many in the world today who foolishly say, "There is no God", and I believe that it is equally true that we often say the same thing in our actions or our disbelief at what He can do. Just as He reveals himself in creation, He longs to reveal himself in our circumstances…whether good and bad. Whatever circumstance we may find ourselves in… we can be encouraged…that just like the seasons…in time our circumstances will change, and we will have that growth in a fuller understanding of the nature of God. As we notice the glorious colors around us this fall let us be reminded of God's constant involvement in our lives and His eagerness to reveal the fullness of His glory as we press through each and every situation we find ourselves in. May we embrace every change we are confronted with throughout our lives knowing that such change will draw us closer to Him!

Father in heaven, help us to not be foolish and to walk in the reality that you look down upon us from heaven to respond to our seeking. May we grow in our desire to earnestly seek you each and every day. May our actions and our faith indicate that we trust you above all else. Thank you for revealing yourself in creation, in the changing of the seasons, and in the changing of our hearts. We love you and desire to honor you in all things. In Jesus name…Amen.

May you be greatly encouraged this week as you seek the Lord. May the invisible attributes of the Lord be clearly seen as you work and play. May you continually rest in the promises of His word that declare How much He cherishes you.
