Genesis 18:32-33
Then he said, "Let not the Lord be angry, and I will speak but once more: Suppose ten should be
found there?" And He said, "I will not destroy it for the sake of ten." So the LORD went His way
as soon as He had finished speaking with Abraham; and Abraham returned to his place.
When you get a chance read Genesis 18:16-33. It is an amazing account of God's love
and desire to save His creation. The text implies that God would have spared Sodom
and Gomorrah had there been only 'one righteous person' there. God's patience to
keep answering Abraham is so encouraging. I am absolutely in awe of how much the
Lord loves us… in spite of us. Even when we disappoint Him, He loves us. There is
never a time when He is unrighteously angry with us…ever. When He is righteously
angry with us, He is never so angry at us that He doesn't listen to us. In fact, His
nature is such that it would be impossible for Him to get that angry. Are you
rejoicing in how much the Lord loves you today? Are you turning to Him even when you
know that you have disappointed Him? Are you walking in the forgiveness that lies
waiting for your confession? Oh, that we would be moved to obedience because of His
great love for us. Oh, that we would never grow tired of asking with hearts that are
always willing to obey.
Father, we marvel at how much You love us. We are so tempted to
walk in disbelief when we know that we have failed You. May we trust how much You
desire to be in fellowship with us. May we be quick to confess any sin that would
hinder our relationship with You. May the Holy Spirit be active in revealing the
unfailing love that is always accessible through Jesus Christ our Lord. In His
name we pray…Amen.
Have a blessed week of receiving Jesus' love and loving Him in return. As we delight in Him…awesome things
begin to take place in our hearts.
