Exodus 3:14
And God said to Moses, "I AM WHO I AM."
I have always loved this interaction between the Lord and Moses. Moses is trying to cover all the bases ahead of time, knowing that he might face opposition from the children of Israel when communicating their impending deliverance from the Egyptians. "Indeed, when I come to the children of Israel and say to them, 'The God of your fathers has sent me to you,' and they say to me, 'What is His name?' what shall I say to them?" God tells Moses, "Thus you shall say to the children of Israel,'I AM has sent me to you.'"
In those two simple, profound words...God tells Moses that He is not to be bound by space or time. He is all powerful, all knowing, and able to be everywhere at once. He is the beginning and the end, the Creator of the heavens and the earth. He is the One whom no man can look upon and live. And yet, through Jesus, the incarnate "I AM", we not only can look upon Him and live, but we live because of Him...Wow!
Father, whenever we are doubting your love and care for us may we be reminded that you are the great I AM. May we be reminded, daily, through the Holy Spirit that you are our "all in all" and that truly in you we live, we move, and we have our being. We are glad that you are not bound by anything for there is no one or nothing greater than You. In you we place our trust. To your name be the praise and glory forever and ever Amen.
May you be encouraged beyond measure this week as you consider who your Dad is....He loves you so!
