| Jesus is the anchor of the soul |
|
Hebrews 6:19
This hope we have as an anchor of the soul, both sure and steadfast, and which enters the Presence behind the veil.
When I think of how unstable things our in our world, in our economy and in people's attempts to make sense of it all, I take great comfort in this verse. It is a reminder to me that Jesus Christ is the anchor of the soul. The purpose of an anchor is to keep a boat secure and steady. It keeps the boat still so it doesn't drift away and wind up crashing against the jagged rocks...or worse yet lost out to sea. That is precisely why Jesus is to be the anchor of our souls. He is the only one who can keep us secure, keep us from drifting and from crashing into the jagged edges of the trials we face. When we allow Jesus to be our anchor we secure our place in heaven forever firmly planted in the security of His loving arms.
Lord Jesus thank you for being our rock, our fortress, our anchor. For bringing us stability in an unstable world. Thank you for the reminder in your constancy that we are secure, never to be moved or lost. Cause us to rest in the promises of your Word which is the same yesterday, today and forever. We love you Lord...Amen.
May you be encouraged today as you discover the Lord's faithfulness in your life. May you be reminded of His love for you displayed on the cross. He died that your life might be anchored in Him. I pray that you would let Him secure you in his love. Have a blessed Jesus week!
