Isaiah 30:21
Your ears shall hear a word behind you saying, "This is the way, walk in it," whenever you turn to the right hand or whenever you turn to the left.

I don't know about you, but Mapquest and Google maps absolutely blow my mind. I just cannot fathom how it is that you can type two addresses into your computer and get directions to most anywhere you want to go. The directions tell you when to turn, where to turn and how long it will take at each interval. Before you know it, you are there! And so it is with the Lord, even more so, because His directions are always perfect. If we follow them we will always get to our destination. We will never get lost. I am amazed at God's provision to insure that we are never confused or lost. First of all we have His word which is a light unto our path and gives us everything we need to be equipped for every good work. But then, just to make sure we have the right directions, He gives us the Holy Spirit who actually speaks to us saying, "This is the way, walk in it". I love hearing His voice prompting me in the things that I should and shouldn't do. I know that it is God's way of taking care of me. I know that as I am faithful to respond in accordance to the directions He is giving me…I will never get lost. I know that as I obediently listen, I will always be where He wants me to be…ultimately winding up at my final destination…the completed work He began in me. Are you listening to the word behind you…telling you the way in which you should walk? If you are…the Lord guarantees that we will arrive at the right destination…at just the right time!

Father, we cannot thank you enough for your desire to direct our lives. We thank you for Your word and for the Holy Spirit. May we be attentive to your directions whenever we turn to the right hand or to the left. May we learn to distinguish between your voice and ours. And may we grow ever confident in your ability to lead us to the right destination. Thank you for loving us the way you do! In Jesus' name…Amen.

I pray that you would have a great and glorious week as the Lord directs your steps. Be encouraged in the fact that though you may not know which direction He is taking you…He does…and you won't get lost. As you listen to Him this week…rest assured that you are right on schedule and right on course.
