Acts 5:28
"Did we not strictly command you to teach in this name."

Have you ever stopped to think about 'this name'? There is nothing like it...absolutely nothing like the name of Jesus. When you consider all that is contained in Jesus' name it is so powerful and awesome. In the book of Acts 4:12, Peter said, "Nor is there salvation in any other, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved."

I never tire of hearing the name of Jesus...or saying the name of Jesus. But, I know that I am guilty of not considering the power that lies within the name of Jesus. I pray that we would mediate on His name which is above all names, allowing the Holy Spirit to reveal all of the wonderful truths about Jesus and what He means to us. I know that as we do...our lives will be forever changed.

Father, we are not able to comprehend all that the name of Jesus' is. We ask that the Holy Spirit would be active in revealing our Savior's character to us as we consider His name. May we be transformed more into His likeness in the hopes that we might be used to impact a weary world. Thank you for saving us by His name and by giving us an equal share of the inheritance that belongs to Jesus. We love you and thank you for loving us. In Jesus' name...Amen.
