The Son is Coming

Job 19:25-27
25 For I know that my Redeemer lives, And He shall stand at last on the earth; 26 And after my skin is destroyed, this I know, That in my flesh I shall see God, 27 Whom I shall see for myself, And my eyes shall behold, and not another. How my heart yearns within me!

I have to confess that I have been grumbling a bit about the weather. I am ready for it to be warn and sunny. Yet I know that the same Lord who makes the sunny warm days is the same Lord who makes the rainy cold days. In response to his wife encouraging him to, “Curse God and die!”, Job said, “You speak as one of the foolish woman speaks. Shall we indeed accept good from God and shall we not accept adversity.”

Job had a deep understanding of the heart and mind of God. When others were encouraging him to curse God…he was crying out to Him. In the midst of his suffering he said, “For I know that my Redeemer lives…” Does your heart yearn for your Redeemer or do you find yourself grumbling about the cold and rainy days. Because our Redeemer lives, we have so much to look forward to…come rain or shine!

Father, thank you for the examples like Job who demonstrated a heart for you in the midst of great tribulation. And thank you for the gift of Jesus who warms our hearts no matter how harsh the weather outside. May we be strengthened each day the understanding that is given by the Holy Spirit.

May you rejoice that He lives among us…and in us. May your week be filled with the warmth and assurance of His love for you.
