Psalm 29:1-2
Give unto the LORD, O you mighty ones, Give unto the LORD glory and strength. 2 Give unto the LORD the glory due to His name; Worship the LORD in the beauty of holiness.

Years ago I learned a worship song with a verse that said, “When I look into your holiness, when I gaze into your loveliness, when all things that surround become shadows in the light of You…I worship You, I worship You”. As I was singing it one day I was struck with the realization of what I was singing. Imagine that you are standing so close to a lamp in your home that everything around it becomes a shadow. This should be the way when we are worshipping the Lord. When we are so close to Jesus, who is the Light of the world, that everything else becomes a shadow. When that happens…few things matter and all our concerns suddenly come into perspective. It is then that we are worshipping Him in the “beauty of holiness”.

Lord Jesus…we give you glory and strength that is due your holy name. We long to be in the beauty of your holiness. We ask that you, by the Holy Spirit, would draw us there each and every day. Especially in the moments when we are feeling pressed down by the world around us. Thank you for the price you paid on the cross that we may enter into the ”holy of Holies”, every time we call upon your wonderful name …we love you, Amen.
