MINISTRIES

Agape (Care Ministry) :

Volunteers in the Agape Care Ministry provide unselfish love & encouragement for folks in need. Meals are delivered when new babies arrive, or when healthcare issues disrupt household routines. A food bank provides resources when the cupboard is bare. Greeting cards are sent to remember special occasions, such as birthdays or wedding anniversaries. And prayers are offered for each special occasion – both by ministry volunteers and by the church staff. Agape Care Ministry volunteers meet every 1st & 3rd Thursday morning at the church office to offer up their prayers & labors of love.

All the Days of My Life (Senior Care Center Ministry):
Every first & third Sunday, church members meet for worship & the word at Rainier Vista Care Center in Puyallup, ministering to a part of the body that is often forgot. Contact Jason Strayer (425.260.778) if you are interested in serving. You will be blessed!

CD/Audio :

The cd/audio ministry records and disseminates – via our website & mail -- Bible teaching from South Hill Calvary Chapel. This allows the Word of God to go forth in a mighty way to reach more of the church and more of the world. Audio CD’s of each message are available for mailing to friends & family; pick them up in the bookstore right after the main service every Sunday. Each Monday, messages from the previous week (Sunday & Wednesday services) are uploaded to the website of South Hill Calvary Chapel, where they may be easily accessed for listening anytime.

Children’s Ministry :

Volunteer children’s ministers support the efforts of parents to raise their children up unto the Lord – by loving them, and by teaching them the word of God. Each week, 70 children participate in Children’s Ministry, cared for by 25 volunteer children’s ministers. Regular Children’s Ministry is available at both the Sunday and the Wednesday services, and at special events or programs, such as Family Camp or the Calvary Chapel School of Discipleship. Sunday classes include:  Nursery, Walkers, 2-3 Year Olds, 4 Years - Kindergarten, 1st & 2nd Grades, and 3rd - 5th Grades.

Home Fellowships (Small Group Ministry):

Weekly meetings in an atmosphere of friendship, food & fun are the perfect setting for digging deeper into God’s word and its applications for our lives. Every Sunday evening Home Fellowship small groups meet in church members’ homes in South Hill, Summit, Federal Way & Bonney Lake; another Home Fellowship meets every Sunday afternoon in Auburn. During July & August, weekly meetings are replaced with two Sunday afternoon picnics & softball games; regular weekly meetings resume in September.

Hospitality :

This ministry gives humble but powerful evidence of the hospitable hearts of members of our church. Team members serve at an all-church potluck every month, after the main service on the first Sunday. Tasty treats are offered every other Sunday after the main service. And special treats are provided for the various special events on the church calendar throughout the year.

Men’s Ministry :

On the second Saturday of every month, men of the church gather at the church for a hearty breakfast. Usually, the format is Grub & Grow, in which breakfast is followed by solid Bible teaching, such as DVD messages from Calvary Chapel Men’s Conferences. But sometimes the format is Grub & Go, in which breakfast is followed by a service project to help out someone in need. Either way, the men of the church love to love the Lord! (And we love to eat, too!)

Missions :

Calvary Chapel Bachiniva (Mexico) has been actively suppported by our church since 2003. Each year we send teams to help with summer missionary outreach and church construction. It has been exciting to see the Lord working there, and in the hearts of our church members. We're also privileged to support missionaries in England, Germany, Belize & Africa.

Prayer Ministry :

Our team of prayer warriors intercedes throughout each week for specific needs of members of the body – that the church might know and do God’s will in each case. Individual prayer is supplemented by regular corporate prayer meetings:

  • All Church Worship & Prayer every first Wednesday evening (7:00 PM) in the sanctuary.
  • Church Prayer every Tuesday morning (5:30 AM) at the church office.
  • Men's Prayer every Saturday morning (7:30 AM) at the church.
  • Agape Care Ministry Prayer every 1 st & 3 rd Thursday (10:00 AM) at the church office.
  • Staff Prayer every weekday (9:00 AM) at the church office.
Most Excellent Way (Recovery Ministry) :

Drawing closer to Christ by learning to love others is the most excellent way to be victorious over every sin in our lives, including any degree of bondage to drugs & alcohol. In weekly meetings (every Thursday at 7:00 PM at the church), we encourage & guide one another to continue in this way with Jesus. A 10-week Bible study from the Beatitudes section of the Sermon on the Mount is our scriptural foundation. Members participate short-term or long-term, as the Lord leads.

The Dwelling Place (Bookstore) :

As a distribution channel for various Bible-based media (books, audio, video, music, witness wear, etc.), the Dwelling Place plays a vital role in spreading the word of God to & through church members. The Dwelling Place is open every Sunday morning. Orders can be placed any time by calling the church office (253.841.5680). Most orders can be filled in about a week. Retail prices are discounted for church members.

Veritas (College/Young Adult Ministry) :

Worship, solid Bible teaching & fellowship are at the heart of Veritas, our ministry to & through the energetic 20-30 crowd. God has amazing plans for these young people!

Women’s Ministry :

Monthly breakfasts and special events throughout the year help the women of the church stay in the center of God’s will, as they share His word, encouraging fellowship, and fine food.

Worship :

The aim of the worship ministry is to allow God to draw us into His presence, and to encourage us to stay there all week long. Volunteer singers & musicians serve every Wednesday & Sunday.

YAC (Youth at Calvary) :

Awesome youth ministers serve the youth in the body through two programs -- Junior High (Abide) & Senior High (24/7): Meetings are held every Wednesday & Sunday, affording young people opportunity to share in worship & study God’s word with their peers. Special events throughout the year encourage the youth to draw closer to Jesus.
