| RON SANCHEZ, Pastor |
 |
He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him. 2 Corinthians 5:21
Pastor Ron first heard the call to the pastorate in 1977 while attending a Bible study taught by Pastor Greg Laurie (Harvest Christian Fellowship) at Calvary Chapel Costa Mesa in Southern California. That evening radically changed his direction in life -- from a self-determined course to be a professional golfer, toward a new life as a surrendered minister of the gospel of Jesus Christ. However, Ron wouldn't fully understand that call until 15 years later. |
| Upon graduation from the University of Nevada Las Vegas in 1979 he moved to Casper, Wyoming, where he taught his first bible study to high school group sponsored by the Fellowship of Christian Athletes. For the next 10 years, Ron served as a lay minister of the gospel to a variety of audiences including youth, adults, and incarcerated youth. During this time he ministered through Bible studies, one-on-one discipleship, worship & outreach concerts, eagerly pursuing any opportunity to share the love of Christ. |
|
Ron was ordained as a Calvary Chapel pastor in 1992, and served as a youth and associate pastor at Calvary Chapel Eastside in Bellevue, Washington. In 1999, he served as an associate pastor at Calvary Fellowship, Seattle, under the ministry of Pastor Wayne Taylor. During these years as an associate, Pastor Ron gained extensive experience serving as youth pastor, worship leader, adult singles pastor, pastor of discipleship & evangelism, and director of the Calvary Chapel Bible College - Seattle Extension. In the spring of 2001, Pastor Ron heard the distinct call to start a new work in the city of Puyallup, and on October 14th, 2001, South Hill Calvary Chapel was born.
Ron and his wife, Jenny, live in Puyallup; their six adult children and five grandchildren live in Puyallup, Nashville, Salt Lake City and Seattle. |

| JASON SANCHEZ, Assistant Pastor |
 |
For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord. Romans 8:38-39
Pastor Jason was raised in a Christian home and began serving in music ministry at the age of 12, and in youth ministry at the age of 18. But Jason admits that it wasn't until the Lord took him to Europe, for eight months of Bible college and missionary service, that he discovered the difference between 'religion' and 'relationship'. It was during those months in Hungary and Austria that the Lord began to break him, so that he could be molded into His image, and could understand what an intimate relationship with Jesus Christ is supposed to be.
|
Pastor Jason was ordained as an assistant pastor of South Hill Calvary Chapel on January 15, 2006, after serving as a lay youth minister and worship leader for three years. He currently provides pastoral oversight to YAC (Youth at Calvary -- our junior high and high school ministries), Veritas (college & young adult ministry), worship and music outreach, and missions.
Jason and his wife, Jackie, live in Puyallup. |

| PHIL SPAGNOLO, Children's Ministry Director |
 |
The LORD your God in your midst, the Mighty One, will save; He will rejoice over you with gladness, He will quiet you with His love, He will rejoice over you with singing.
Zephaniah 3:17
After college (1999), Phil's life was changed forever when he became a servant of his Savior, Jesus Christ. Just prior to that point, he had a wonderful girlfriend, great friends, and good education, but he was still missing meaning in his life. Then, an old high school friend invited him to study Evidence That Demands a Verdict by Josh McDowell. This started him on a deep study of God's Word. As a result, Phil repented of his sins, gave himself fully to Jesus, and began to be fed the Word at Calvary Chapel churches
|
Phil was born in Pasadena, CA, and spent his childhood and teenage years in Grants Pass, OR. During his studies of electrical engineering at Gonzaga University & the University of Washington, Phil had struggled with his faith - at times committed, at other times doubting.
Following his complete surrender to the Lord, Phil earned his master's degree in Electrical Engineering at the University of Washington, and he married that wonderful girlfriend, Heather, on July 1, 2000. They now have two daughters: Anna and Rose. Phil has served in various roles at South Hill Calvary Chapel since its inception and now serves as the Children's Ministry Director and as an Elder. Professionally, Phil works for Boeing Phantom Works as a researcher. |

Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.
2 Corinthians 5:17
Alan was born and raised in Birmingham, AL, and moved to Washington in 2003 to help plant a church with the Southern Baptist Convention. A few years later he felt the Lord calling him to a new church home at South Hill Calvary Chapel. | FRANK BOULET, Chaplain of Prison Ministry |
 |
Knowing this, that our old man was crucified with Him, that the body of sin might be done away with, that we should no longer be slaves of sin. Romans 6:6
Pastor Frank's call to the ministry came in a round about way. Armed with three college degrees, he engaged for many years in an intense pursuit of success in the business world. Ultimately, the Lord apprehended him and mercifully welcomed him back into the fold, putting an end to these years of stubborn rebellion. His new life was launched with an extensive course of Bible study in prison, followed by service in various prison ministries. The Lord used these experiences to confirm His call for Frank to a lifetime of service as an ordained pastor. Frank was ordained as an assistant pastor at South Hill Calvary Chapel on July 1, 2007, after serving as church administrator for six months.
|
Pastor Frank provides pastoral oversight for a variety of ministries at South Hill Calvary Chapel which include the bookstore, counseling, discipleship (including new believers), evangelism, prayer, prison ministry, recovery ministry and the senior care center ministry.
Frank & his wife, Judy, live in Elk Plain; their six children live in Puyallup, Seattle, Colorado, New York and Germany. |
